Prevention

Prevention services reduce the development of alcohol and drug problems by educating youth and families, helping people to develop the skills and abilities to have a successful life that does not involve abuse of alcohol or drugs, and changing the environment of public norms and policies to promote alcohol and drug-free lifestyles. Prevention services also include intervening in alcohol and drug use to address problems in the early stages of development.
